Community Symposium to Address Spirituality, Illness

On Wednesday, Sept. 18, Thompson Health’s Sands Cancer Center will host a community symposium called “Spirituality: Living with the Challenges of Illness.”

Held at the Inn on the Lake, 770 S. Main St. in Canandaigua, the symposium begins with check-in starting at 12:15 p.m. The program begins at 1 p.m. and lasts until 5 p.m., with session topics including spirituality and chronic illness, caring for the caregiver and compassion fatigue.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Rob Horowitz, a member of Thompson’s medical staff and a consultant with the Palliative Care Program at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Refreshments will be provided.

The cost is $10 per person or $15 per couple and the registration deadline is Sept. 13.
