In partnership with The Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center (CMAC) and the Canandaigua Family YMCA, Thompson Health is offering a free flu clinic for the uninsured and underinsured.
The clinic will be held Saturday, Nov. 6, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the YMCA, 32 N. Main St. in Canandaigua. Those seeking flu shots are asked to use the Grieg Terrace entrance to the Y. Parking is available on Grieg Terrace, in the Y parking lot just outside that entrance and on North Main Street.
Shots are available to adults and to children ages 9 and older. No appointment is necessary.
The free clinic is made possible through monetary “tips” collected this summer by CMAC Ambassadors at the Robert Mondavi wine tent. The Ambassadors, volunteers from Constellation Brands, Inc. who staffed the tent during each of the 23 events at CMAC, collected approximately $2,000. CMAC is matching the amount for a total donation of $4,000 to fund the free flu vaccinations.
“On the heels of a tremendously successful 2010 season at CMAC, we are thrilled to be able to give back to our community and partner with the Y and Thompson Health to offer this clinic,” says Ginny Clark, President and Executive Director of CMAC.
As we head into flu season, these community partners share a collective goal to ensure that everyone in our community is protected, regardless of insurance status.
Information will be available at the event regarding local services for the uninsured and underinsured, including the nearby Thompson Clinic at 120 N. Main St.
