The F.F. Thompson Foundation has announced the Spring 2010 recipients of the Community Health Grants. This grant program, inspired by the community-minded philanthropy of Mary Clark Thompson, enables the Foundation to directly invest in projects and organizations that enhance the health of the community.
The Spring 2010 recipients are:
· Gleaners Community Kitchen for new dining room counters
· Ontario County Sheriff Department’s Seniors and Law Enforcement Together (SALT) Council for the publication of a safety guide for seniors
· Partnerships for Ontario County, Inc. for its Family Support Center programs
· Partnership for Ontario County, Inc. also received funds to purchase
smoke detectors for 22 homes of hearing impaired residents
Twice each year, in spring and fall, the Foundation awards grants to organizations for projects that show commitment to community partnering and align with the Thompson Health mission. Local not-for-profit organizations may receive grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 annually for individual projects based upon grant application, program plans and financial need.
