In keeping with Mary Clark Thompson's spirit of community-minded philanthropy, the F.F. Thompson Foundation has established a Community Health Grants Program that enables the Foundation to directly invest in projects and organizations that enhance the health of the community. Based upon grant application, program plans and financial need, individual projects of local not-for-profit organizations may receive grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 annually.
Twice each year, in the spring and fall, the Foundation awards grants to organizations for projects that demonstrate benefit to the health status of the community, show commitment to community partnering and align with the Thompson Health mission.
The Spring 2009 recipients include American Red Cross for daycare provider first aid and CPR training; Gleaners Community Kitchen for development of a Web site; Parkinson Support Group of the Finger Lakes; and Wood Library’s Wood Walkers and Talkers program.
