Thompson Health announces a call for applications for the 2011 Fall cycle of Mary Clark Thompson Health Grants. All local not-for-profit organizations whose programs enhance community health and wellness are encouraged to apply for funding through this opportunity offered by the F.F. Thompson Foundation.
The Mary Clark Thompson Health Grant program, which issues grants bi-annually in the Spring and Fall, enables the Foundation to invest directly in projects and organizations that care for the community. Individual projects may receive grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 annually based on grant application and the following criteria:
• Benefit to the health status of the community
• Plan, goal and time frame
• Financial need
• Commitment to community partnering
• Alignment with Thompson Health’s mission
Successful applicants represent a wide range of not-for-profit organizations and programs from our area. The Partnership for Ontario County’s Pikes Peak Project, The Back Pack Program at Marcus Whitman Central School District and the City of Canandaigua Fire Rescue’s Thermal Imaging program are just a few examples of our most recent Mary Clark Thompson Grant recipients. The Salvation Army’s senior exercise and nutrition program, The Super Saturday CPR training program provided by the American Red Cross, Finger Lakes Visiting Nurses’ 13th Annual Caregiver Conference, and With Youth, For Youth’s Youth Development Initiative conclude the diverse recipients of 2011’s Spring grant cycle.
For those interested in applying for the Fall 2011 grant cycle, the application deadline is Sept. 16, 2011. Applications are available by visiting the F.F. Thompson Foundation area of the Thompson Health website, www.thompsonhealth.com., or by calling (585) 396-6155.
