CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine Thompson Health, in partnership with the Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center (CMAC) and the Canandaigua Family
YMCA, administered more than 50 vaccines at its recent free flu clinic for the uninsured and underinsured.
Held Saturday, Oct. 28, at the YMCA, the clinic was made possible through donations collected by Constellation employees while they volunteered at CMAC’s Robert Mondavi, Arbor Mist, Tom Gore, Woodbridge, Corona, Ballast Point and Modelo tents during the 2017 summer concerts at CMAC. Constellation then matched the donations.
The $12,000 raised at CMAC not only funded the eighth annual flu shot clinic but went to the YMCA’s Annual Campaign and The SPOT, which provides free school supplies and clothes to children in need at the Canandaigua Primary Elementary School.
After Thompson’s flu clinic expenses were covered, the remaining portion of the contribution to Thompson went to the Patient Needs Fund at the Sands Cancer Center, which is part of the Wilmot Cancer Institute and is located on Thompson’s main campus in Canandaigua.
