CANANDAIGUA - Roseland Bowl and members of the Canandaigua USBC Bowling Association raised a record $22,000 for Thompson Health’s Breast Health Patient Navigation Program at the 5th Annual Bowl for the Cure held in February of this year.
Since its inception, the event has raised more than $74,000 for the Sands Cancer Center’s breast cancer awareness and education programs. The Breast Health Patient Navigation Program provides free breast health screenings as well as support and coordination assistance for a wide variety of services following a diagnosis.
With Thompson’s anticipated opening of a new Women’s Health and Wellness Center, future funding will continue to benefit the Breast Health Patient Navigation Program after it moves to its new location. Scheduled to open in 2014, the new Women’s Center will offer patients private access to all breast imaging services, same-day testing and results, and convenient access to the Breast Health Patient Navigation Program team for the appropriate professional, financial, spiritual and emotional support essential for well-being.
This year more than 400 participants, sponsors and business contributors helped to make Bowl for the Cure a success. Major sponsors included:
