CANANDAIGUA, NY – “Clucks for Bucks,” a chicken barbecue benefitting end-of-life care, will be held Thursday, July 18, from 3 to 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Crosswinds Wesleyan Church, 3360 Middle Cheshire Road in Canandaigua.
The meals, by Gale-Wyn Catering of Canandaigua, will include a half a chicken, macaroni salad, coleslaw and salt potatoes. They cost $9 per person, with proceeds benefitting the Palliative Care Program at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, Thompson Health’s 188-bed skilled-nursing facility.
“The goal of our program is to comfort the individuals involved when a loved one is in their end-of-life journey,” says Social Worker Kaci Wadhams. Wadhams is chair of the committee, which also includes a physician, nurses, a counselor, a recreational therapist and a massage therapist.
