CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine Thompson Health named Director of Materials Management/Purchasing Stephen Harrington its 2021 Associate of the Year, and also presented its annual Shining Star Awards to more than 30 of its associates.
Harrington, of Avon, was heralded for ensuring – throughout the pandemic – that the health system has never been dangerously low on supplies.
“Many other organizations struggled to provide personal protective equipment, but that was not going to happen at Thompson on Stephen’s watch. He was proactive, thinking long term, working endless hours and skillfully negotiating to ensure we were covered,” said President/CEO Michael F. Stapleton, Jr. “His actions allowed me to sleep at night knowing we had everything we needed to protect our associates, patients and residents.”
