CANANDAIGUA - The Service Excellence Team (SET) at UR Medicine’s Thompson Health recently announced the first quarter recipients of the health system’s Service Excellence Awards:

CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine Thompson Health has several positions open within its 178-bed skilled-nursing facility, the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, and is holding a job fair on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

CANANDAIGUA – All local not-for-profit organizations whose programs improve the health and wellness of the community within the service area of UR Medicine Thompson Health are encouraged to apply by April 15 for Mary Clark Thompson Community Health Grants offered by the F.F. Thompson Foundation.

CANANDAIGUA – The 10th annual “Bowl for the Cure” takes place Friday, Feb. 9, and Saturday, Feb. 10, at Roseland Bowl, 4357 Recreation Drive in Canandaigua. This event is organized and hosted by Roseland Bowl and Members of Canandaigua USBC Bowling Association and features not only bowling but live entertainment, raffles and prizes.

CANANDAIGUA – Individuals who experience occasional lower back pain are invited to attend a free seminar on Thursday, Jan. 25, at UR Medicine Thompson Hospital, 350 Parrish St. in Canandaigua.

CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine Thompson Health will host a free, six-week “Living Healthy Workshop” beginning Tuesday, Jan. 23.

CANANDAIGUA – Based on an increase in influenza in the region, UR Medicine Thompson Health is instituting visitor restrictions at both F.F. Thompson Hospital and the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center effective Wednesday, Jan. 3.

CANANDAIGUA – A one-man enactment of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” held last month in Canandaigua, raised approximately $2,500 for patients of UR Medicine Thompson Health.

LIMA – UR Medicine Thompson Health recently opened its Lima lab draw station to all community members.
