NAPLES – The 13th annual Margery Coughlin Pawluk Golf Tournament recently raised more than $13,000 for the Margery Coughlin Pawluk Cancer Patient Needs Fund. This fund helps patients of the Sands Center Center – on the Thompson Health campus in Canandaigua – who are undergoing active treatment and have identified financial constraints in dealing with the unexpected costs of a long illness.

CANANDAIGUA – Research shows certain risk factors can increase the chances of developing cancer. Some of these factors, such as tobacco use, can be controlled. Others – like age and family history – are beyond our control, so UR Medicine Thompson Health is now offering cancer genetic testing to help area residents and their physicians make more informed decisions while taking a personalized, proactive approach to health care.

VICTOR— The fourth annual Thompson Health Golf Classic, held on June 4 at Cobblestone Creek Country Club in Victor, netted more than $72,000 to support a new, 12-bed intensive care unit at UR Medicine Thompson Hospital.

VICTOR — The 2018 Ladies’ Pink Fly Golf Classic, held June 2 at the Victor Hills Golf Club, raised more than $15,000 for UR Medicine Thompson Health.

CANANDAIGUA – For the second year in a row, UR Medicine Thompson Health is serving as the official athletic training service provider at Shootout for Soldiers, a 24-hour lacrosse event coming to Canandaigua Academy on July 21 and 22.

CANANDAIGUA – UR Medicine Thompson Health Nutrition Services Director James Taylor recently received a Top 10 Illuminating Excellence Finalist Award from Premier, Inc., a healthcare improvement company encompassing approximately 3,900 U.S. hospitals and more than 150,000 other healthcare organizations.

CANANDAIGUA - Sunset Serenades, Ferris Hills at West Lake’s annual summer concert series, will kick off on Wednesday, July 18, with a performance by The Paulsen & Baker Band, with special guest Tim Chaapel.

CANANDAIGUA - Roseland Bowl and members of the Canandaigua USBC Bowling Association recently presented $18,700 to UR Medicine Thompson Health for its Breast Health Patient Navigation Program.
