NAPLES – The 13th annual Margery Coughlin Pawluk Golf Tournament recently raised more than $13,000 for the Margery Coughlin Pawluk Cancer Patient Needs Fund. This fund helps patients of the Sands Center Center – on the Thompson Health campus in Canandaigua – who are undergoing active treatment and have identified financial constraints in dealing with the unexpected costs of a long illness.
CANANDAIGUA – Research shows certain risk factors can increase the chances of developing cancer. Some of these factors, such as tobacco use, can be controlled. Others – like age and family history – are beyond our control, so UR Medicine Thompson Health is now offering cancer genetic testing to help area residents and their physicians make more informed decisions while taking a personalized, proactive approach to health care.
VICTOR— The fourth annual Thompson Health Golf Classic, held on June 4 at Cobblestone Creek Country Club in Victor, netted more than $72,000 to support a new, 12-bed intensive care unit at UR Medicine Thompson Hospital.
