CANANDAIGUA, NY – F.F. Thompson Hospital recently received the American Stroke Association’s Get With The GuidelinesSM–Stroke Gold Performance Achievement Award.
The F.F. Thompson Foundation has announced the Spring 2010 recipients of the Community Health Grants. This grant program, inspired by the community-minded philanthropy of Mary Clark Thompson, enables the Foundation to directly invest in projects and organizations that enhance the health of the community.
Thompson Health has received a $75,000 state grant from Senator Volker’s office for the F.F. Thompson Hospital expansion and renovation initiative. The monies are for the feasibility, design and development studies needed to undertake the renovation project.
The 8th Annual “Tour de Thompson” (formerly known as the Ride for Independence) bicycle tour of the Bristol Hills to benefit Thompson Health’s Rehabilitation Services Aftercare Program will be held Saturday, July 31 at Onanda Park, West Lake Road in Canandaigua.
Thompson Health will hold its 14th Annual “Rose Walk” on Saturday, June 19, from 8 to 11 a.m. at Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion Historic State Park, 151 Charlotte St., Canandaigua. Join “celebrity” walkers and teams on either the one-mile or two-mile walking route through beautiful Canandaigua neighborhoods.
Thompson Health has received a $200,000 matching grant from the Rochester Area Community Foundation Bullis Fund for the F.F. Thompson Hospital restructuring initiative. When completed, F.F. Thompson Hospital will have new areas for Surgical Care, Ambulatory Procedures, Rehabilitation Services, Laboratory, Nutrition Services and Associate Services.
Carlos R. Ortiz, MD, Senior Vice President of Medical Services for Thompson Health and Medical Director for F. F. Thompson Hospital, received the 2010 Hispanic Health Leadership Award from the National Hispanic Medical Association on March 27 in Washington, D.C.
The 13th Annual Yarger Memorial Golf Scramble will be held on Saturday, June 12 at Victor Hills Golf Club, 1450 Brace Rd., Victor.
The 6th Annual Margery Pawluk Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, June 4 at Reservoir Creek Golf Club. Registration and brunch begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 11 a.m.
