CANANDAIGUA – A stand-up comedienne described by Oprah Winfrey as “one of the funniest people on the planet” will be one of the featured speakers at “To Your Health,” an informative and fun event tailored to women and hosted by Thompson Health on Friday, Oct. 1, at the Inn on the Lake, 770 S. Main St. in Canandaigua.
Diana Jordan is a healthcare humorist who was nominated for an American Comedy Award as one of the Top 5 Female Comedians in the Country and who was featured on the HBO comedy series “Women of the Night.” She will speak at the event about the power of a “happy heart,” and having the courage to laugh.
Also speaking during the daylong “To Your Health” event will be local artist, motivational speaker and heart transplant recipient Ginger Zimmerman, as well as 13WHAM News Anchor Ginny Ryan, who will address the topic of achieving a work/life balance. Other speakers will address topics including weight management and stress as the event explores a variety of women’s health issues and steps women can take to be proactive about their health. Exhibitors will include experts in breast health, colorectal cancer awareness, sleep disorders, diabetes management and physical therapy.
The event – which includes lunch – is scheduled to begin with 8:30 a.m. registration/exhibitors and continue until 4 p.m. The cost for those who register prior to Sept. 3 is $25 per person, and the cost after Sept. 3 is $35.
